THIS IS DEDICATED TO JULIE AND ALLISON

Ok so it has been a month since my last blog entry, so one a month, that's not so bad...it's better than my brother. Anyway I had been thinking, "what's the point in blogging, no one reads my blog but my parents and I talk to them about every other day anyway..." Well I was wrong, there are 2 other people that read my blog and they are my cousins--JULIE AND ALLISON. They came home for Christmas and we got to talking about it. I found out they check my blog frequently and I am even in Julie's favorites ( I rank pretty high up, too). So I would like to shout out to them!
***Hi cuz's, hope ya'll got home ok, glad we got to hang out. Julie-come over any time
and play Dance Dance Revolution. Allison-glad I got to meet your husband. Miss
you guys***
So on another note...today is Tanner's birthday, he is 10. It's hard to believe. He was born at 12:56pm. Today we went to lunch at O'Charley's (tanner choice). He had on a watch, and he was counting down the minutes to 12:56. And at 12:56 on the dot we sang "Happy Birthday!!" It's was great. Tanner is such a great kid. We had some present disasters. He wanted Razor E200 electric scooter. So great no problem, except it was a problem, because 3 days after Christmas no one has an E200. I usually do better about buying his birthday present before Christmas, but not this year. So we explained to him that we couldn't find one, he said "Well you could just give me money." Well I was ok with that because he is a saver, but I still wanted to get him something to open. So I went to the mall and bought him one of those video game things that plug in to the front of your TV, you know the ones that have all the old games like Mario, Duck Hunt, Frogger, stuff like that. Well he loved it! But...the thing takes 4 AA batteries, however the little piece that you put the batteries into would not hold 4 AA batteries, the 4th one kept popping out. I tried, Roman tried, stupid piece of crap. But Tanner, being Tanner, just played his DS game that Avery got him. Then we went to the movies. Oh well, I do plan to take the stupid thing back, and they better give me my money back.

So sorry for rambling, and no promises on when the next post might be.

I'M BACK

I know that I haven't posted in so long that no one probably looks at this blog anymore. A few months ago I said I was getting as bad as my brother about not posting, and I was right. Although I have posted a few more times than Jody, not too many more.

Anyway, I feel like my life is pretty boring and there is not alot to share. However, there is always something going on. Avery is at Rebecca's house tonight and tomorrow he is going shopping in Atlanta with her. He must really like this girl to spend the whole day shopping. Today is there 2 month anniversary, we had to stop and get a card on the way to her house tonight. I don't think I'm ready for all of this! She is a really nice Christian girl, and if I had to choose a girlfriend for him then I would pick her any day. Anna Kathryn is at a birthday party tonight and the party will not be over until 11:30. Since when do 8 year olds have party's that last until 11:30??? So I would love to be in bed already, but I'll have to wait. Tanner, Colson, and I went to Stevie B's for dinner and then to Toys R Us (just to make a list). Now Colson and Tanner are both asleep. So nothing too exciting, just busy but boring.

It's hard to believe that Christmas is almost here. I have got alot of shopping done already which is kind of out of character for me. I hope to be all done by next week, but we'll see!

So I really am going to try to do better about posting....but I'm not making any promises.

TANNER'S BROKE ARM

COLSON GETTING READY FOR THE GAME
COLSON ADJUSTING BEFORE THE GAME

COLSON..GAME ON

BROKE ARMS,FOOTBALL, AND CRAZY CATS

So I feel like I hardly have time to sit down and even check email these days, let alone blog. So I really am trying to do better. I still have boxes in the garage that need to be unpacked, mostly junk stuff at this point. I still have laundry that is never ending. Not to mention the 6 different directions we have to go in any given day, but enough complaining. A few note worthy thing that have happen in the last week or so.....

Tanner fell off the trampoline at our next door neighbors house(our new next door neighbors)and broke his arm. He came running in the house "OUCH MOMMY OUCH MOMMY OUCH!" I could tell immediately that it was broke, we went to the ER, then the following day we went to see ortho. He as a soft cast right now, he will go back next week for another xray. If it is healing ok he will get a hard cast, if not they will have to set it, which could be bad for Tanner and me. Just to give a little background on the fall, the trampoline has a cage around it but they were playing a game...who could run around the outside of the cage without falling off. Tanner had almost made it around when he got a little push from his little brother, Colson. Needless to say, Colson was crying harder than Tanner when they came in the house. Tanner has done great, he's not much of a complainer, unlike the other children in the house. It is his right arm, so he is having to write lefthanded. But he is doing great.

Colson is playing football for the Perry Rec Dept. He is having a blast. He has been playing defense, some line, some tackle or safety (whatever). Today they played a team that was twice as big as them. Colson hit the running back and bounced off, the kid never slowed down. Any way he looks great at practice.

I'll have to save the cat story for another day, I have to go get Avery from a cheerleading competetion. He went to watch a girl, that will have to be a story for another day too.

I'm Back

Ok so I am getting as bad as my brother about not posting, but so much has been going on. School started, we sold your house to Roman's brother, and bought a new house, our Little League team went to the World Series and WON!! It has been crazy busy around here. The last three weeks we have closed on a house, been packing and unpacking, and still unpacking, and been to Williamsport, PA twice. The new house is great 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (we only had 1 before) and a two car garage. I will post pictures soon, soon as there are not boxes all over the place. The Warner Robins American Little League boys are the WORLD SERIES CHAMPS!! It has been wonderful and busy and very time consuming for Roman. We were at the final game and it was awesome! They are all great little boys, with great parents. Today they had a parade and a big celebration at the Civic Center. It was great, Roman did a great job! So I will try to get back to posting more regular. Will post pictures soon.

The Beach

So we are at Hilton Head Island, SC. We left on Sunday morning. We got here around 1:00 and we couldn't check in to our hotel until 4:00. So we got some lunch, then we all changed in to our bathing suits (in the car, LOL) and headed to the beach for a few hours. It was overcast and wonderful! Today, Monday, there was a 60% chance of thunderstorms, we thought it was going to rain all day. When we got up the sun was shining, so we headed to the beach. We had been there about 30-45 minutes and Avery got stung by a jellyfish. He dealt with it pretty well, it only took him about 2 hours to get back in the water. After lunch Anna Kathryn got stung too. Now there were probably 1000 people on the beach, what are the odds of 2 people in the same family getting stung??? Anyway AK cried a little louder than Avery, but she survived, and did get back in the water. Quote of the day by AK...."Why did God have to create jellyfish?" Then supposedly some man swam out to the buoy and supposedly some one saw him go under. They made everyone get out of the water. The lifeguards searched the water for a while with the Coast Guard. Then they made human chains with people on the shore searching the bottom of the ocean for a body. Roman, of course, joined in. And he got stung about 3 times by jellyfish. Ok now the jellyfish were not that bad, but 3 out of 6 of us got stung. They later called off the search. There was no family looking for the man. One lifeguard said it could have been a manatee. Anyway, we got back to the room around 4:45, the rain started around 5:30, Praise the Lord! I will post pictures when we get home on Wednesday.

THIS GUY

So just to add a little to my last post, this guy that works with Roman gave us Braves game tickets.....This guy's name is Pete. He is a great friend!!! He made it possible for the great seats to see the Braves, he made it possible for Tanner and Colson to see their 1st ever Braves game!! He is a GREAT guy!!!! And let me tell you what else he did...He also arranged to get our house cleaned right after my surgery. It was absolutly wonderful! A few guys from Roman's work chipped in and I for one day had a cleaning lady! It was great! So this super awesome guy named Pete who made it possible for Braves game tickets and a clean house has a wonderful wife named Dee Dee and I think she is the one who really got the tickets. But anyway just so everyone know that Pete is not just "this guy that works with Roman."

THE ATLANTA BRAVES

So I took my boys to an Atlanta Braves game last night. I probably over did myself a little, but it was so worth it! Although I thought it was going to be a disaster the way the evening started. Let me back up a little...A guy that works with Roman had 4 tickets to Saturday's game, seats behind 1st base dugout (they ended up being about even with the pitcher's mound, 2nd level-GREAT SEATS) Roman had to work, so I didn't think we couldn't pass up the opportunity, so I took them. The game time was 7:05, I thought about going early for batting practice, but then I thought my boys might be ready to go before the game even started. So we got on the interstate at 4:00 in Perry. Now normally it is about an hour 30min-hour 45 min ride to the stadium, but this was not normally. It took an hour to get from Tanger to the 675 split, I think that is about 20 miles at the most. Then when we get to the stadium exit there is a line about a mile long getting off the exit. It was about 6:00 when we got to the exit, at about 7:00 we had just got off the interstate. Now if I had any sense about myself, I would have just gone up a few exits and tried to work my way back, but NO- I just set there with everyone else, waiting and waiting and waiting. Now I did just have my uterus removed, maybe they removed some brain cells too??? Anyway I ended up dropping Avery and Tanner off right at the front entrance and they went to our seats. It took Colson and I another hour to get around to our designated parking lot. When I got there the lot was full-perfect! A nice officer let me park in an employee lot across the street in a place that wasn't even a parking spot. But it worked and we were finally on our way. A little after 8:00 and the middle of the 3rd inning we were finally all in our seats.

So what was worth it??? Avery caught a foul ball! Actually it bounced off a mans hand, and rolled under a seat in front of Avery and he got it. The man behind him offered him $40, but he didn't give in. (this was before Colson and I got to our seats) We got to see Chipper hit a home run. Colson and Tanner had a great time!!!!! Colson paid attention to the whole game-one inning the Braves batted around, Colson said "Are they starting over?" I wasn't even paying attention but he was. Colson also said "Double play!" when the Braves turned two. Tanner was a little disappointed when they took Chipper and Andruw out of the game. I said it was because they were winning so bad they put the subs in. Tanner said "oh they have to get there 2 innings one at bat?" Well not really, but oh well. Final score Braves 14 - Cardinals 6. It was the most attendence ever at a Braves game-53,953. So I should've left earlier, I should've gone up to the next exit, but I didn't, oh well! We did make it and had a wonderful time and I think we will go back. But next time we will leave a 10:00am.

SURGERY

So I have been quite out it for the last few days!!!!! Surgery went as smooth as possible, I go back to the doctor this week, he will have path reports and all of that stuff. So have you ever been punched in the stomach or do you know that feeling in the pit of your stomach? Well that's how it feels when they remove your uterus. Today is the 4th day post op, and the pain is almost gone. It's really hard for me to sit around and do nothing, even though I know that's what I need to do. I see stuff that needs to be picked up or dishes that need to be unloaded or loaded or laundry or anything, I just find it hard to ask someone else(Roman) to do it. Roman has been wonderful and so have the kids. Roman had to work last night and tonight, then he'll be off for the week. Avery spent the afternoon at a friends house, he called to say they were going to church tonight and then they could bring him home or he could spend the night? So I said I don't care if you spend the night, he said "so will you be ok with the kids tonight by yourself?" I'm sure he would have fed them and bathed them and tucked them in to bed, but I let him stay. LOL Friends have been wonderful, we have had food brought every day. I can't even begin to express my thankfulness to everyone who has brought food. God has been so good!!! So as I get to sit around with not much to do, I should have plenty of time to blog!!!

Baseball everyday

So when I said baseball everyday, I meant baseball everyday! Since Friday last week we have been having a District 5 Little League tournament at our little league field. Roman is the president so he has HAD to be there everyday. So we have been there with him. Keep in mind that none of my four children are playing in this tournament. But lots of friends are and it really has been a good time. It rained on us a few nights, but no one melted. Tonight we are all having lasagna after the 8:00 game, so I am home right now with lasagna in the oven. And I finally got a chance to blog!!

Our computer was not working for a few days and then the tournament, but there has been some exciting things happening. First and most important--Tanner and Anna Kathryn both excepted Jesus as their Savior last week at VBS. They did it on the same day, but neither of them knew about the other one until afterwards. I am very excited for both of them and also a little hesitant. But God know their heart, and we will just leave it in His hands. I have seen a difference in their attitudes and actions. Today I heard Tanner asking one of his friends if he was a Christian, the boy said no. So we will pray for Richard, and pray that Tanner can be used by God.

Second--I went for pre-op yesterday. I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy on next Wednesday, July 11. I'm not worried, it was my decision to go ahead with surgery. I will have to stay one night in the hospital and I am really looking forward to having a few weeks off of work!!

So just to end the post, Avery bought guitar hero for the PS2. We have all been jamming when we are not at the baseball field. It is so much fun!! I think I might go play now while I am waiting for the lasagna to finish cooking.

Tanner

I haven't said much about Tanner on this blog, so I am devoting this post to him. I guess it's the curse of the middle child, I think he feels left out sometimes and no one even knows it. (AK would say that she is the middle child too, but she is the only girl, so that kind of counteracts her being a middle child) Tanner is such a sweet and sensitive young man. He is very smart and quite a deep thinker. He thinks in terms of numbers, he is always counting. He can do math problems in his head that would blow your mind. So we are a baseball family, and Tanner has played since he was 5. But baseball is not really his thing, and that's ok. He will probably be a great coach or umpire some day. He knows the game well, he always knows the count, he always knows the score, he probably can remember the score from every game this season. To have a conversation with him you would probably think he was like 12 (he's only 9). He is going through this thing right know where he doesn't like girls, AT ALL! Any age, any hair color, it doesn't matter. We went to lunch on Sunday with some friends, they have a daughter that is 12 or 13, she's going to the 8th grade. She said hey to him and he started hitting her on the arm. I said Tanner what did she do? He said she was being mean. We are having VBS this week. He said "I saw Suzanne (that's her name)today and she said Hey, she is so mean!" So we've had a few talks about not hitting girls and that just b'c a girl speaks to you that's not being mean. Anyway as smart and sweet as he is, he still thinks that girls are gross! He'll grow out of that soon enough, I'm really not in any hurry for that. So Tanner is Tanner and we love him for it!

Nothing Interesting

So as much as I love this blogging thing, I've realized how boring we really are. Nothing much has been happening the last few days. I've gone to work, the kids have stayed home, Roman is working at night and sleeping during the day, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...So as I think about what to say, I have nothing, call it writers block, call it boring, call it whatever you want.

But I am good at talking about nothing for hours, so......Avery had a game tonight, we didn't go, it was in Macon. He called and said they lost 12-1. He pitched the first 2 innings and gave up 10 runs. So it was a bad night for Avery, but even Roger Clemens has a bad game sometimes, right??? Avery said "well if I hadn't given up those runs, we still would have lost 2-1." That's one way to look on the bright side. While Avery was getting pounded on the mound; Tanner, Anna Kathryn, Colson, and I went to Pizza Hut and had personal pan pizzas. It was GREAT!Roman had a meeting at the ball field. I am off work tomorrow and I am very excited about that. I hope to take the kids swimming somewhere, maybe if we can find a pool. If not we'll just look like the rednecks we are, and play in the water sprinkler.

Anyway, life is good, God is good, and I told you I could talk about nothing!

SOME DAD PICTURES--HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

AK at WRALL Father's Day Tournament

UPDATE ON TOURNAMENT

Well Anna Kathryn's team lost in the semi-finals to Dodge County. It was a good game, 13-9. It was very HOT today, around 95 degrees! We were kind of glad to see it come to an end, but Anna Kathryn was upset. Tanner and Colson had a great time today. They stayed upstairs in the board room watching "Night at the Museum" while we were all sweating like crazy.

Anyway, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the father's out there! I would like to say that I think that I have the BEST Dad that a girl could ask for. I am so thankful for my Dad! I love him soooooooo much. And I think that my kids have a great dad too. Behind every great kid is a great dad, and I have 4 GREAT kids. So they must have a super great dad! Roman is a wonderful father, and I am so blessed to have him as my husband, and my kids are blessed to have him for their dad.

AK SOFTBALL

Anna Kathryn's team won the first two games, and lost the 3rd one 12-10. They will play at 2:00 tomorrow in the Semi-finals, if they win they will play in the finals at 4:00. Avery had only 1 game today and they lost 13-3. I will update tomorrow.

Baseball Tournament

So when I said we play baseball everyday, I meant it! Avery had games Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and today(Saturday). Our little league field is hosting a tournament this weekend. Anna Kathryn's all-star team is playing in it. Last night her team won 28-3. Today they will play 3 games. It really is alot of fun! So that is why it has taken a few days to post here. After this weekend it should slow down a little. Avery will still have 2 more tournaments, but I think AK will be done. So I will update the scores of the games later tonight.

So I am really going to try to do better at this blogging thing than my brother, Jody, and I will probably not be as good as Emily, my sister-in-law. I still don't quite know what I'm doing. I don't know how to make a link to Jody or Emily's blog. I'm sure my computer savvy husband could figure it out for me. I am doing good just to be able to type.

So today we went to church at Central Baptist(we have been visiting there for a few months, but we haven't joined yet...but that is another blog for another day) When we went to pick Colson up from his class, we peeked in the window. He was standing over next to the wall beside the teacher who was reading a book. While he was listening to the book, he was trying to get a Mr Potato Head earring on his ear. He tried like 10 times while we were standing there watching through the window, finally after about the 10th try he got it on his ear. It was the funniest thing. Then as soon as he got it on, Roman opened the door. He snatched it off real quick. When we got out in the hall, Roman says "that was a pretty earring", Colson said "Dad, that was a pirate earring!" I think I was crying I laughed so hard.

So you have to know Colson, he is the youngest of four, he keeps everyone laughing. I think he could get away with anything. He says the funniest things. Like today out of the blue he says, "you know, Mom, black people aren't really black, they are brown." He is very random. We would definitely be bored without him around.

So I will post later on the rest of the kids, but today was Colson's day!

Our First Post

Ok, so here we go!!! I don't know why I have decided to do this blogging thing, I'm not near cool enough, and I probably don't have anything interesting to say. But I am doing it anyway. We are the Jones family. If you are reading this you probably know us, but I will introduce us anyway. I am Jerre, I am the mother of 4 wonderful children. My husband is Roman, he is a great father and husband. Avery is the oldest he is 14, Tanner is 9, Anna Kathryn (the only girl) is 8, and Colson is 5. We are a baseball family! We are coming to the end of the season where all 4 kids played. It was crazy but we survived! Right now Avery is playing summer ball at the high school, they will play 4 tournaments in June. Anna Kathryn is playing all-stars, they finished 2nd in a tournament that ended last night. Tanner and Colson are done for right now, but they have been having "Backyard Baseball" tournaments on the PS2. Tanner usually beats Colson down! So I will update on baseball games and anything else interesting that happens in a family of six.
