I haven't said much about Tanner on this blog, so I am devoting this post to him. I guess it's the curse of the middle child, I think he feels left out sometimes and no one even knows it. (AK would say that she is the middle child too, but she is the only girl, so that kind of counteracts her being a middle child) Tanner is such a sweet and sensitive young man. He is very smart and quite a deep thinker. He thinks in terms of numbers, he is always counting. He can do math problems in his head that would blow your mind. So we are a baseball family, and Tanner has played since he was 5. But baseball is not really his thing, and that's ok. He will probably be a great coach or umpire some day. He knows the game well, he always knows the count, he always knows the score, he probably can remember the score from every game this season. To have a conversation with him you would probably think he was like 12 (he's only 9). He is going through this thing right know where he doesn't like girls, AT ALL! Any age, any hair color, it doesn't matter. We went to lunch on Sunday with some friends, they have a daughter that is 12 or 13, she's going to the 8th grade. She said hey to him and he started hitting her on the arm. I said Tanner what did she do? He said she was being mean. We are having VBS this week. He said "I saw Suzanne (that's her name)today and she said Hey, she is so mean!" So we've had a few talks about not hitting girls and that just b'c a girl speaks to you that's not being mean. Anyway as smart and sweet as he is, he still thinks that girls are gross! He'll grow out of that soon enough, I'm really not in any hurry for that. So Tanner is Tanner and we love him for it!
